Senator Dodd Endorses Obama
Today Senator Chris Dodd, former Democratic presidential candidate, endorsed Barack Obama for president. This probably won’t mean anything, but I have to give kudos to Dodd for having more of a spine than John Edwards, who for all his talk of “change vs status quo” and anti-lobbyist influence, still hasn’t had to guts to put his name where his mouth is and endorse the candidate to whom all of his unions, superdelegates and supporters are flowing.
It probably helps that Obama took the time away from campaigning a couple weeks ago to help Dodd fight Bush’s FISA bill in the Senate, while Hillary, although in the area, was apparently more concerned with Potomac damage control, which was apparently in vain.
So cheers to Dodd, and boo to Edwards for not having the courage to stand up to the Clintons and support change.
